Eros

February 14th is St Valentines Day, it is also my birthday, I still only get one card to cover! ~

So what are the chances? I live in a rural area, pop approx 20,000.
So what are the chances of finding someone else with the same birthday? Ok. So what are the chances that both of them live in the same small town? More? Ok.
What are the chances they not only have the same birthday and live in the same small town, but they are both exactly the same age! Hah, hah!

Now you still with me? Given all that, what are the chances they both live in the same apartment building! Getaway you say! Now the final piece, what are the chances that they not only live in the same building (only 12 apartments) in the same little town and are both the same age, it turns out they live right next door to each other!! Lets see you top that one!
Happy birthday Bob!
~ ~ ~

So what are you doing for your sweetie on this special day? A nice card, flowers, chocolates? How about dinner and a show? How do you tell her how much you love her? ~ Do you even remember to tell her anything? I wouldn’t want to be in your shoes Bud!

For my honey, I decided to put together a few words that try to express my love for her and what she means to me.

My Love for you

I feel for you, like I were a part of you.
I feel for you, ~ as the beat of your heart,
I feel as ~ the eyes in your head,
Your very precious thoughts ~
And the way you shake your hair.
I feel as part of you, ~ when pouting your mouth -
That smile that would melt any heart.
These are but some of the things I feel.
As being a part of you my love,
And how much I love you.
On this special Valentine’s Day ~ ©

Another wonderful poem Eric!

And Happy Birthday! I can't match your story of sharing the date, but I can come close. There are 2 others in our social circle with the same birthday as mine. But only one of them was born the same year that I was. However, going one step further, he and I both attended the University of North Carolina; he arrived there from New York while I came from Detroit. But we didn't know each other then. We didn't meet until 25 years ago here in our southern California community. I believe an old statistics professor of mine said in class one day while lecturing on probability that in any group of 50 people, there will be at least 2 who share a birthday. Hmmm!!

Anyway - have a wonderful birthday. Now I know why you wear your heart on your sleeve (and in your poetry). :~D

I love the poem Eric...how lovely...please, please can you share it with our friends at Our Place today? Elizabeth is a very lucky woman, and I know you feel equally lucky. Bless both your hearts.

Happy Valenbirthday Eric and Bob!

Too cool. Dan is good at remembering days like this. He hints at something big but I am taking him to dinner tonight.

Very sweet poem. You are awesome. I hope your day is awesome as well.

Hi Newnorth, that's sad not to have a Valentine ~ not ever! :(

One day the right one will appear, then you can give him hell for taking so long.. LOL

Thank you Leon for the wishes and liking the poem. :)

I don't know about the statistics of 2/50 but nothing would surprise me at this stage.

That is quite interesting about your old school chum, I bet there are many stories out there that could be told along that line. :)

Hi Margie, glad you like the poem to Elizabeth, she liked it also. We have had a good day to now, very enjoyable.

I know what you mean about the weather, early last month our temps were up but since then the temps plummetted to -35 with the windchill and we also had three snow storms. ~ At last report the groundhog had left home I guess he's on the run! LOL

Have a wonderful evening & dinner with your hubby Margie and a Happy Valentines Day to you both.. :)

Well, Happy Birthday! and that's truly an amazing coincidence about your neighbor. I've only known one person in my 57 years who was born on Valentine's Day. She was my best friend's mother and she was born on the actual day of the St. Valentine's Day Massacre in Chicago I think it was...ancient history now.

Thank you for visiting my blog and for your comment.

Just come back for another read of your poem - lovely. Useful tip about boxes of junk; I'm just pulling a few out to have a look....

Had an interesting if very chilly walk - hope you enjoy the latest castle, Eric - very unusual story attached to this one!
