Vent on Wee-venge

It’s been some time now since I have been able to write anything at all. I guess it could be said I have lost all sense of direction; not that I had a specific plan in mind in the first place.

When I started blogging a year ago, not having written before, I stumbled out of the gate and words just tumbled onto the pages daily. I thought at the time, Wow! This isn’t so bad after all. Since then however, I seemed to have covered a multitude of things, sort of like riding a carousel, but now ending up right where I started from and Ye Olde question. ~ What do I write?

Life right now is one big ‘Pandora’s box’, some of the ingredients are known, such as my COPD and this never ending winter season. The lousy new neighbor we have in the apartment overhead; one of the most inconsiderate, ignorant and noisest people that I have ever come in contact with. A stark raving rollicking idiot!

Living below such a person is worse than having to share living quarters with a herd of cattle, at least the cattle are more civilized and will respond to kind gesture.

Tried the civil approach ~ She blamed the Cat! Judging by the amount of noise, it must be a 'Mountain Cat!'

Things just about reached a peak today at one point, when ‘upstairs’ seemingly toppled over some heavy piece of furniture sending it crashing to the floor.

“That’s bloody it!!” I burst out, “ I’ve friggin had it!” Fuming I pondered a course of action. I decided on the broom handle and give em a good rap on the ceiling.

‘What you going to do?’ asked the wife.

“I’m going to give them something to get upset about” I retorted.

‘I think they just went out’ ventured the wife.

“I’m going to rap em anyway” ~ the wife looked at me and smiled.

“Well I’ll get even with their cat then!” I bristled, with the totally useless retort anyway.

At least I ended up with a bit of summit to write about after all.

Nothing like a noisy neighbor to get those old writing juices flowing. :~D And YES, those dry spells do come but the words always come back when they're ready.

That's right Leon...all in it's own perfect space in time. The only thing to do while waiting is to ponder one's blessings. That'll jiggle the pen a little. :^D

Sorry about the racket above, Eric; got any memories of life over the pond you could share?

Had to laugh at the cat....!

That is true Leon but nothing changes, I get up tight thinking about it... U R right tho' it makes me think. :)

Hi Singing Stream, that also is true, I just can't wait to move out of here..

Hi Julie, what can one do eh, that's life I guess.

As for memories across the pond, well I have written a lot of stuff in earlier blogs, mostly in the autobiographical labels.. Lots of ok reading there, you'll need time to go through it though. I will have to joggle more memories up. :)

U R right the Kat is a blast .. LOL

I'm often thankful that I don't live above someone else - mine is the noisiest house on the block. With that in mind, it could be worse for you Eric, it could be me and my brood above you! I'm glad that yours goes out sometimes.

So the cat is out of the bag, and it got you writing! Why not hire a big monster of a dog and ...no, that would be as bad. Get the owners email address and we can all bombard her with words of wisdom! ;-)

Eric Valentine said...

I'm thankful for that too Judith, of course a swift kick in the ass works wonders? LOL

HI Swen, with a moron like this one, one would get more response from a brick wall.. her number is on that wall already, I have ways of dealing with people like that. :)

I'm having the same problem Eric. Coming up dry right now and I'm posting just to keep something written. I keep thinking free association.... at one point I'll have something to say.

rap away. I hate upstairs neighbors!

The cat had it coming, throwing furniture and stomping around like that.

No change on the jerks up top..

My sympathies, Eric, re the neighbour. It's always a very difficult thin to resolve. At least it did get the writing in gear! :-)

Hi Seamus, yes things like that are arkward at times. It did get the pen going though, as you said, we just never know what it takes do we. :)

Eric,

I love your posting on Willow Park and your winter photos. I miss winter. My husband grew up in Cleveland. I grew up in northwestern Pennsylvania. Both of us remember wonderful "lake-effect" snow. We've lived in Maryland for 40 years and see less snow every year. It doesn't seem right. They even say that the Baltimore Oriole has moved north.

Thank you for your wishes Samrina, sometimes one feels that's what it would take.

Things will settle down though for I have taken steps for that to happen.. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed the posts & pics Forsythia, I do hear that a lot about missing the winter snow. It's not so surprising that some parts of the world are opposites of here.

We get lots of birds where we live, but we only ever had a Baltimore Oriole twice which is a disappointment, for we rushed out to get a feeder for him, but I guess he was just passing through. :)
