Giving Thanks

This year, before sitting at the table this thanksgiving, to partake of the wonderful bounty placed before us. I would like to take a moment, to offer our thanks to Mother Nature for all that she has given us already in such a wonderful year of pleasure.

This has been at a time of my life with this COPD, that I never dreamed I would participate in, let alone feast on such a menu of beauty to take home, but then who could turn down such an incentive.

When it comes to putting on a show nobody does it better than Mother Nature, who once again flexes her awesome power, putting on such enjoyable sights.

In addition to the park that we go to and I have shown so much of, we also have a small lake a short distance from where we live, it takes all of five minutes to get there. These then are a few shots taken there and some of its wildlife.

Round em up, move em out!~ Time to go.

Now be nice ya hear, eat and no squabbling.

Well whadya think. ~ We come again next year?

Doncha think this is just a great turnout?

Get outer here! Ya say that to all the ducks.

Thanks for a summer to remember.

C'ya

Thanks for the pictures Eric. I always was fond of ducks, especially a mother in the springs with a line of ducklings in her wake. They are every bit as delightful as my our peacocks. :-))

Thanks Newnorth, I kind of thought that one was posing too, they're all cute. :)

Hi Leon, hope your weekend went well for you.

I too have always been fond of ducks ever since visiting my grandfather's farm as a child.
My job was to make sure all the ducks didn't get out beyond the hole in the hedge. I love the sound the ducks make with their quacking.

I think though that all animals and birds are a delight my friend. :)

What great shots Eric. We have a duck park here in town. I haven't been there for a long time. Your pictures make me think I should go talk to the ducks for a while.

Thank you Zirelda, they are nice and restful to be near aren't they. I enjoy them and when you take pics they look so colorful. :)

Thanks for visiting Z.

Hi Eric, it is a wonderful place for you to go to and follow the seasons. Your climate is like some parts of Sweden, so I understand that it will be impossible in the winter, but then again it can be beautiful in winter as well, if you wrap up properly. Last year my wife walked on a frozen lake for the first time in her life. She was thrilled, and a little anxious. So now you have to look forward to spring in the park. Always something to focus on. Enjoy those turning leaves while you can!

Hi Swen, you are exactly right with your analysis of the seasons and activities over here.

When your wife walked on the ice, I can just imagine how she felt. I shudder over here when people take their snowmobiles onto the lake ice. There are always accidents each year, of someone going through the ice. Crazy people alright.

We will be heading to the park in spring the first chance we get my friend. Thanks for visiting. :)

Eric these photos are so wonderful! How right you are that we should be eternally grateful for all of nature's beauty that charms, enchants , soothes and heals.

Eric Valentine said...

Thank you Janice, we are indeed fortunate in this part of the world.

A single picture gives a sense of peace, such as the world would ever crave for.

Haha Tim, I knew I would be taking a chance showing those ducks, hide the sweet sauce. :)

Nature will heal most things, given enough time my friend. )
