Update

Just a quickie. The move is almost on us with just eleven days to go ~ so far so good, things are looking very bright from where we sit right now.

A couple of weeks ago it was Moms birthday, 82 years young, she's still man hunting! ~ I penned a few words to celebrate the occasion.
**
Mom!

Some say their Mom is the worlds best,
Even better than all the rest.
But that’s not true for as you see
You’re the tops in our house,
Shush! don’t tell, ~ you’re privy
For that‘s between, just you and me.

Eric - all the best with your final preparations for the move. Hope it goes well. Just come back from the Lake District Very pleasant few days touring up there.

Hi Julie, I used to love the Lake district when I was younger.

Moving time is when you find out, just how much of a packrat one has been. :)

Whose Mom Eric? Yours? I was sure I knew hold old you are which would make a woman of 82 highly unlikely to be your mom. Then again, I am less than 10 years younger than my mother-in-law. I am closer in age to her than I am to my wife. ;~) It's probably none of my business but I sometimes do get a bit nosy. On the other hand, it is good to see another post and poem from your hand.

Yesterday was my Mom's 99th birthday. I am 67. She's lived with us for nearly 9 years. She pretty well takes care of herself, but I am not dealing with the daily petty annoyances too well anymore. My own grandmother had a fatal heart attack at 68, back in 1962. Her mother, 93 at the time, lived in what we used to call "a home for the aged". Great-granny called once too often, demanding that her daughter go downtown immediately to buy hairnets, corn plasters, cough drops, you name it.

I must learn to be patient.
I must learn to be patient.

Enjoy the move to your new place.

Hi Leon, I'm sorry I'm so hit & miss just now but better days ahead.;)

Very astute you picked up on that my friend, yes it was Elizabeths mother.

My mother had she lived would be 96 now bless her, but no matter the age, they're all the world to all of us. ~ I don't mind you being nosey. LOL :)

Hi Forsythia, sorry to hear of the situation that was your experience. Congrats to your Mom for reaching such a grand old age. :)

I always feel that life is too short and yes patience is such a much needed quality when some folks get that trying & old.

Once they're gone though we all miss them regardless of the faults. :)

Take care.. :)
